I’m trying very hard not to reblog things but this post is just, really, all my love for this university. :p

FOR THE LOVE OF UP! I miss UP!
Blogged: Adventures and Misadventures of an Iskolar ng Bayan.
Collection of stories when I was still studying in UP Mindanao.
I was reading my past blog entries and found this. I wrote this entry a day before my graduation. :,)
“UP made me realize that honor and excellence is not defined by just getting high scores in exams and eventually graduate as cum laude (or better yet, magna/summa cum laude). Honor and Excellence is rather defined as how you, as an Iskolar ng Bayan, will serve the country base from what you have learned from the university, be in the field of Mathematics, Biology, Communication Arts, Political Science and etc.”
Since grade school until the very last day of my high school life, I’ve always been an achiever. Like any other ‘traditional’ achievers, we always believe that grades measure one’s intelligence. I’d do almost everything that would just make my grades high. I have never experience failure, until I entered college.
Life in the university was really difficult. Meeting new friends wasn’t really that hard but meeting the demands and high standards of my professors was really excruciatingly hard. If there’s one particular moment of my life that I would change, I’d definitely go back to the time when I made a promise to myself that my lowest grade should be 2.00. I’d probably tell my old self tostraighten up your thoughts and be more open-minded!
Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago
Gosh I must admit that this is true (well for some UP students, including me! HAHAHA). God I love this lady so much! Our country needs more people like her!
